Areopagus
Areopagus is the Rock of Ares and it’s located on the northwest side of the Acropolis. During the ancient years it functioned as the Court of Appeal for criminal and civil cases in Athens. The term Areopagus also refers to the judicial body of aristocratic origin that formed the higher court of modern Greece.
